I just realized how much of a hardcore-procrastinator I am. I have some homework for one of my film classes I'm supposed to do. It's actually pretty cool homework, (an oxymoron, I'm sure) but for the sheer sport that is procrastination, I will hold off on it until later.
On a different but also rather similar subject, I'm getting back into editing. I stopped for a couple of months because I was burned out on it. I was churning crap out left and right. Now that I've had a proper break I think it's time I continue the last project I left off on. It was a "behind the scenes" sort of band recording thing that I did for Israel's band. I was sort waiting for some more footage, but I got the go ahead to just do it.
The Sunset Tan show on E is fucking repulsive, but I still watch for some reason. I almost foam at the mouth from watching these "people." Except Erin, she's cool.
I did some intense (and long overdue) cleaning in my room today. I don't clean often, but when I do I go into crazy 50's housewife mode. I keep cleaning and cleaning and throwing crap out and arranging and rearranging until I start leaking or something.
I'm halfway looking for an acoustic guitar.
I did a total wipe of Windows XP yesterday. I forgot how the whole thing happened, but I did. I was also bored with the whole Windows thing and looked up Ubuntu (Ubuntu being the newest version of Linux). It's free and great! Except... Yes, there is an except. Except if you're into media production (as I am), more specifically, video editing. If you're a casual user and want to try something new, or even if you lost your Windows CD and need a fresh OS install, it WON'T dissapoint. I felt almost automatically comfortable with the interface. It's aesthetically pleasing and very user friendly. It has crap loads of software for the everyday user. Best of all, you don't need any drivers at all! It instantly recognizes everything. I'll just say that after a fresh install, there is more to do in Ubuntu, than there is in a fresh install of XP. Sooo lame though, If there was a pro level editing app for Ubuntu, I'd switch so fast.
Here is a link to 10 reasons why Ubuntu is better than Windows XP.
Oh oH! If you're curious, there's a way to try it without uninstalling windows XP. It's super easy. There's instruction on the website. Again, if I forgot to mention, it is FREE. It's legaly free! Totally and completely free!!

There's a chance some dude could buy my TV. I'm having second thoughts about selling it though. Not because I don't want to sell it, but because I would want to wait until that after thanksgiving sale. (I'm totally down for sleeping out front one of those big stores btw.) The thing is, I wouldn't mind waiting if it wasn't for goddam October! October is a cluster-fuck of gaming releases! Everything is coming out October. From Little Big Planet to Fallout 3, shits gonna be insane! I don't want to wait a month to play my games :(
In lighter news, I'm going to sleep now.

Final GFW
What can I say? The last GFW radio ever was released yesterday and it felt a bit unreal. I almost can't even remember a time when I didn't listen to 1up's podcasts.

I'll admit I started a little late. I first got into legendary thread about a year ago. I was curious as to what these "podcasts" were. I was already watching the 1up show on a regular basis, so I thought, "hey this might be just as good." I was not wrong. Shortly after I started watching the 1up show, Luke Smith left. I was fairly new, so this didn't phase me much. It was not until I was catching up on all the Legendary Threads that I realized how much it sucked that he left.
Soon after I started listening to all the 1up podcasts, I grew especially close to GFW radio. The down to earth and humorous banter of this collective of writers was one of the things I truly looked forward to every week.
Now, I know this may sounds a bit cheezy... But I looked up to these guys. Nay! I LOOK (present tense) up to these guys. They're all very real, very successful people doing what they love. They inspired my to change my major in college and chase my dreams. They inspire me to better my writing (You can go ahead and laugh at me now... Yes, I know, basic things. Stuff like punctuation and grammar.) They inspired me to game on my PC (I've started building a gaming rig. I'll get there slowly, but surely.) As well as giving me a reflex for despising the pirating of games. I've also started my own podcast because of these guys. The point being, having these people in my ear every week has changed my life in a very, very, very positive way.
Sure it was sad to see Sean Malloy, Jeff Green and Shawn Elliot leave, but I kind of looked at it like they are looking for a new challenge. I'm sure everyone gets to a point when they get very comfortable at a job and they're simply looking for a new challenge. Now I may be completley wrong, but it works for what I'll use this last inspiration. Never get too comfortable and always look for the next challenge (at least in the proffessional world, if a game is unenjoyably hard I'm switchin' it to medium or easy...)
The only things I regret are never subscribing to the GFW/CGW magazing and not listening to the podcasts eariler on (CGW radio days). That makes me a little sad. Ugh... I'll also miss Jeff's voice in my ear... so charming and full of character.
As for me I'll keep on keepin' on, but I would like to wish Sean, Jeff and Shawn good luck in their new jobs.

Keep it like a secret
So I had an awesome 5 minutes just now. Let me start with a little back-story:
The thing that circled it the part that's broken.
So I call Plantronics today, after having broken the USB thing myself months ago, keep in mind I wasn't calling to complain. I asked if they sell that particular replacement piece. Unfortunately they don't, but (and this is a big, ass but) she said she'll send me one complimentary. For a second I was confused and in my confusion could only blurt out "excuse me?" Then again she says, "yeah, we don't sell replacement parts so I'll send you one complimentary."
This might just be some insignificant event compared to like anything ever, but it made my week.
Plantronics constumer service is (insert lame but positive internet meme, ex. win, ftw, winzorz) or great.
For a couple months now my headset was broken. I have a Plantronics something or other. The selling point for me was that it had a USB adapter and could use it with my PS3 (via USB). It was working fine the first couple of weeks. This is the part where you would think it started malfunctioning. No no no! I broke it, Not purposely of course, but it stuck out and I walked by it a couple of times and hit it. The point is... Broken now.

Primo Meatball
So I just finished an epic 5-6 hour music-making-athon. I started recording AND finished recording everything for the new "The How" track today. It's a David Bowie song, won't tell which one yet, but it'll be good.
Cuz she nasty
A couple of days ago Moi came to my house. We were just hanging out in my room. He was playing video games and I was browsing the web. I was getting a little bored of staring at a screen so I picked up my guitar. Sometimes I ask Moi or whoever is with me to sing while I play. This time I asked Moi to sing while I played Tenacious D's "fuck her gently." I got the idea to record this while Moi was in a singing mood so I did. Ended up becoming the beast that is "The How."
This is a picture of me and Moi, circa 2005. It was taken with a super crappy video camera that happened to take stills too. I loved the colors in it and it just fit with what is now "The How."
Long story short, I ended up making a band page for it on myspace after about 5 hours of adding drums, bass, a second guitar and putting it all together.
In all its glory: http://www.myspace.com/thehowmusic
Also, just to clarify, the title of this blog has nothing to do with the blog. It's just something I heard on tv as I was typing this (which is how I will choose my blog titles from now on).
